Accredited Yoga Teacher College

What is PCTIA?

To ensure consumer protection and consistent standards of quality for private training institutions the Government of British Columbia established the Private Career Training Institute Agency of BC (PCTIA) which is governed by the Private Career Training Institutions Act [SBC 2003] Chapter 79.

What is Accreditation?

As of June 2007 PCTIA reported 496 training institutions were registered in BC.

PCTIA confers two types of recognition for institutions. The first is simply known as "registration", which is the minimum standard for operating a private training institution in BC.

Only 209 of the 496 registered training institutions were accredited.

The second type of recognition is known as "accreditation" and rigorous standards are required to achieve this status.

The process for becoming accredited involves a rigorous study of the college and its operational procedures as well as detailed surveys of student satisfaction and successful job placement rates.

Prana Yoga Teacher College is the ONLY Accredited Yoga School in Canada.

The result being that only the finest institutions are awarded accreditation status. Prana Yoga Teacher College is proud to be the only yoga school in Canada to have earned accreditation status.

Only accredited schools can be designated for British Columbia Student Assistance Program (BCSAP) funding
(for student loan eligibility see our financial assistance page)

Understanding the enduring value of quality education, Prana Yoga Teacher College has dedicated itself and the necessary resources to achieving and maintaining this important accreditation status.
